IT WAS THE news blooper that changed everything. From the first moment we watched Aengus Mac Grianna fix himself on camera before horrifyingly realising he was on air, we knew we would never reach those levels of joy in our lives again.
Well, Aengus appeared on the Late Late Show last night and was given the chance to explain himself. So, go on, EXPLAIN YOURSELF.
It was one of those things, I had literally been told two minutes to air, so as usual, I was making sure everything was correct, but in the studio, there was a problem with the clock and it just went to zero and we were put on air. All of a sudden, in my ear-piece, I could hear them calling the studio, that’s why you can see that [gestures to ear] and I was waiting, and suddenly heard that confirmation and was like… oh.
Oh, indeed. But hey, it could have been worse.
Thank God all I said was ‘what’, it could have been an awful lot worse.
Well that’s that cleared up so.
The news anchor also revealed what we think is the greatest bit of news we’ve ever heard. Who’s giving him away at his wedding? The lovely Anne Doyle.
She’s a true legend, she’s absolutely fabulous, I’m delighted.
