Gaza ceasefire talks expected to resume as Netanyahu approves plans for military operation in Rafah
The White House, which has said an assault on Rafah would be a “red line” without credible civilian protection plans, said it had not seen the plan.
Hamas has proposed a six-week ceasefire and the exchange of several dozen Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners, with Israel sending a delegation to Qatar for negotiations.
The main UN agency operating in the Palestinian enclave said that one in three children under two years of age are now acutely malnourished in northern Gaza.
