FAR BE IT from the showbiz world to become overexcited about a rumour. But there is widespread – and by widespread, we mean Reuters-level – speculation that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie might get married this weekend.
The Sun is leading the charge, reporting that there is “real buzz” around the couple’s French chateau after they flew family members in for a mystery event.
It might be for Brad’s parents’ 50th wedding anniversary, the paper admits. But a source says: “Some think this could be it. Even Angelina’s private jeweller is here.”
The paper also reminds us that Brad’s best pal George Clooney is merely an hour away by plane at his house in Italy, and there’s “no way” he’d miss the nuptials.
However, Reuters is less enthusiastic about the idea. A village official told the agency that locals “don’t know anything about it”, and that the Pitt/Jolie nuptials would have to take place at the village hall under French law.
