Chapters bookshop in Dublin has a new uplifting name for its dystopian fiction section

“It could be worse…”

THERE’S A NEW trend in bookshops in the last year that has seen many a Science Fiction section changed to something like “Real Life”.

A pretty reasonable assessment of the times we live in.

So Chapters Bookstore on Parnell Street in Dublin have renamed their Sci-Fi shelf, except they’re taking a slightly more optimistic view

Glad we’re not living in 1984, then.

They write:

Sometimes it might feel like we’re living in a bleak alternate reality from the burned-out brain of a paranoid science fiction writer, but there’s always a world worse off than us.
