knee contouring

An Irish blogger is hilariously calling out a beauty brand for promoting 'knee-contouring'

Give over.

THOUGHT CONTOURING WAS a dead-end trend? Think again.

Gone are the days of sculpting cheek bones for the gods and drawing on diddies the finest plastic surgeons couldn’t fashion. No no – now, we need to be concerned about our unshapely knees.

Catrice Cosmetics summer campaign features a product called the Slim Legs Body Contour Roller (€9).

Contouring cream in a professional roll-on packaging for the whole body. Easy to use, the contouring cream with a matte finish ensures naturally defined results.”

Still haven’t a notion how to use it? Don’t worry, they’ve included a handy picture guide.

Anyway, blogger Yazmin (of Glitter Mama Wishes), has had enough of companies pedalling out trends which inevitably make us feel like shite.

Writing on Facebook, the mam of four wrote:

Knee contouring is now a beauty trend. FUCKING KNEE CONTOURING?! How are we supposed to be happy in our own skin when this is passed off as a normal “beauty trend” to ensure a “perfectly defined beach body”?
I’ve been in shorts this summer with my non contoured knees, stretch marks and *non defined* legs. I mean, how not on trend of me.

She concluded:

Seriously though, this is ridiculous and I hope no girl or woman believes this normal. You are allowed be happy with the way your body is in its natural state, knobbly or chunky knees and all! This has to stop! #instashape #mybodyisfineinitsnaturalshape

She’s since sent feedback to Catrice on the “sad and upsetting” promotion, explaining her experience with an eating disorder in the past.

Listen, I’m sure there was no ill intent on Catrice’s part. But can we stop with the beauty BS? Please?
