Cork teens force autistic boy to expose himself and eat twigs

A video of the attack was posted on Facebook afterwards and local gardaí say they are aware of it.

A VIDEO POSTED on Facebook in the last week showed an attack on a teenage boy with autism in which a group of youths stuffed twigs down his throat and forced him to expose himself.

The video is said to have been filmed in Carrigaline, Co Cork, by the teenagers involved in the attack on the vulnerable boy, and posted online afterwards. Facebook has now removed the footage after being made aware of it by furious social media users.

Karen O’Mahony, who runs a support group in Cork for parents of children with special needs, told Cork’s 96fm today she had been made aware of the video by the mother of an autistic child who had spotted it.

She said she was “horrified” to see the gang of teens put the boy “in such a vulnerable situation”.

A garda spokesperson said local gardaí are aware of the allegations made, having found out about the video. The boy’s family have since reported the incident.
