Dublin pub MVP is allowing dogs back on the premises as of today

Last month, a visit from the HSE forced them to stop letting them in.

LAST MONTH, DUBLIN pub MVP were told that it was no longer allowed to welcome dogs onto its premises.

The Clanbrassil Street bar, which is operated by Bodytonic, is known as a particularly dog-friendly pub locally – but a visit from the HSE looked like it had put paid to such visitors.

But today, MVP took to Facebook to say that they will be allowing four-legged friends into the bar once again:

As of today, we are allowing dogs back on the premises of MVP. We have received no formal written information on why this was not allowed in the first place, nor have any other bars in Dublin been notified.
So we are going to continue trading as we have done, and as countless bars & cafes across the country have done, for years. At the end of the day, we have a business, and jobs to protect, and lots of customers who are loyal and faithful to what we have built here.

So these little guys can join their owners in MVP this weekend

Last month, a HSE spokesperson told DailyEdge.ie that the issue of dogs in pubs that serve food comes under their remit, suggesting that an environmental health officer in the Dublin 8 area may have enforced the code at MVP.

MVP does serve grub in the form of Spudbox; a variety of baked potato options served informally in cardboard boxes – and that looked like the reason why dogs weren’t being permitted entry.

But, for now at least, MVP are taking a stand and saying that dogs are most certainly welcome
