Ed Sheeran and Mick Jagger went for lunch together in Dublin... it's The Dredge

All the week’s goss.

EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the best of the day’s celebrity dirt from the top to the very bottom.

It’s no secret that Ed Sheeran is a big fan of the Rolling Stones.

Over the last few years, he has hung out with the band quite a bit and even joined them on stage to perform Beast of Burden with them in Kansas City back in 2015.

Now, while both Ed and The Rolling Stones are in Dublin, they’ve decided to go for a bite to eat between their gigs. A source told The Sun that “They’re both great networkers who love music and enjoy talking about life in the business.”

So when they realised their tours were crossing over in Ireland, they decided to get together for lunch, picking somewhere very posh but very private to do it out of the way, given they are two of the world’s most recognisable stars.

Goss.ie suspect that Mick and Ed had their lunch at the 5-star InterContinental Hotel in Ballsbridge, where The Rolling Stones are currently staying. (RTÉ)

Royal Wedding preparations PA PA

Kensington Palace have released a statement regarding Meghan Markle’s father’s absence at the Royal Wedding.

As we all know, Meghan’s father Thomas Markle will not be attending the wedding. So, Kensington Palace have announced that the Prince of Wales is set to walk Meghan down the aisle instead.

Ms. Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St George’s Chapel on her Wedding Day. The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to The Royal Family in this way.

A few hours earlier, Kensington Palace made another announcement, which listed the ingredients in the wedding cake.

While we’re on the topic of the royal wedding, Kensington Palace have reportedly “lost control” of Harry and Meghan’s wedding.

The whole media and PR situation with Thomas Markle has gotten the better of them. Thomas has apparently been in “near constant contact” with gossip website TMZ, who have been quoting him directly every time he changed his mind about whether or not he’d be there on Meghan’s big day.

Arthur Edwards, who has been a photographer of the Royal Family for the last 40 years, said that many newspapers are printing second-hand reports from TMZ as fact:

Nobody actually knows because it’s one website in America putting out this news and it could be totally inaccurate. But we don’t have anyone confirming things at Kensington Palace. Here’s a man who claims to have turned down interviews for £50,000 to £100,000. Suddenly he’s got a hotline to TMZ? No one has verified anything that TMZ have said.

Another reporter believes that it’s no surprise that Thomas Markle has cracked under the pressure of the media while “left to his own devices”, without any assistance from the Royal Family. (Buzzfeed)
