No congrats?

Emily Ratajkowski isn't impressed that people gave her marriage 'three weeks'

‘It’s a constant writing-off.’

IN FEBRUARY OF this year, Emily Ratajkowski tied the knot with Sebastian Bear-McClard after a relatively short courtship.

People still say courtship, right?

In a fairly epic departure from your standard celebrity wedding, the pair made it official in a New York City courthouse, with the bride wearing a mustard-coloured two piece from Zara.

Oh, and she announced it via her Instagram story.

And since the ceremony three months ago, which was witnessed by two men named The Fat Jewish and Josh Safdie, the model has been forced to defend the validity of her union.

People came after my marriage, like, ‘Wow, I give it three weeks.’ I’m like, ‘What?’

Speaking to Marie Claire, the 26-year-old says she the length of her relationship and her decision to go low-key on the day seems to give people carte blanche to question her relationship.

No one can take women seriously on any choices they make, especially if they’re unique to them and they don’t play into the way we think women should get married. It’s a constant writing off.

Emily, who is currently starring in I Feel Pretty, admits that she’s met with cynics in her professional life as well – something she has very little time for.

I think I freak people out sometimes going into meetings with Hollywood producers with fucking guns blazing. I had something to prove, and it had very little to do with my acting ability or the way I looked. It was about the ‘Take me seriously. Look me in the eye’.

Emily also revealed that her publicist encouraged her to announce her wedding after the model expressed reluctance, saying: “I actually thought there was a chance that no one would find out.”

Ah, now.
