Dubliners are leaving tributes to this beloved Talbot Street fruit seller

Esther McAuliffe, who sold fruit on the street for decades, died earlier this week.

DUBLINERS HAVE SET up a touching tribute to Talbot Street fruit seller Esther McAuliffe, who passed away earlier this week.

People have been stopping to lay flowers on a fruit stall that has been set up at her usual spot on the corner of Talbot Street and Marlborough Street.

A poster in this thread said she’d become a familiar face on Talbot Street after spending over 30 years selling fruit there – and she can even be seen selling her wares on Google Street View.

Esther’s funeral will take place on Monday. Deepest sympathies to her family at this time.
