Bono's daughter hilariously apologised for mortifying him in front of the paps... it's The Dredge

All the best of the day’s celebrity dirt.

EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the best of the day’s celebrity dirt from the top to the very bottom.

On Wednesday, Leonardo DiCaprio threw an insanely starry charity fundraiser at a vineyard near St. Tropez. All the celebrities turned out — Bradley Cooper, Naomi Campbell, Jonah Hill, Mariah Carey and, yes, Bono.

The Hewson clan, including Ali Hewson and Eve Hewson, were photographed chilling on what appears to be some sort of fancy boat.

Once Eve copped that there were photographers about, however, she decided to pull up her hood with The Irish Independent reported that she “clearly wasn’t in the mood to be photographed”.

Last night, the actress took to Instagram to apologise to Bono for mortifying him.

This picture is a perfect example of how great I am at entertaining my mother, and how great I am at embarrassing my father. I’m sorry Dad. I’m sorry for doing Darth Vader impressions at you while you’re getting photographed by paparazzi. I’m sorry they didn’t catch the moment I actually made you laugh. I’m sorry I have to be the one to tell you this but LUUUUUUKKEE

Celebs — they’re just like us, eh? (Goss)

A music festival has had to apologise after Bob Geldof dissed the crowd for wearing Primark. Geldof was performing at the Brentwood Music Festival with The Boomtown Rats when he started mocking the crowd’s outfits.

On the other hand Brentwood, you are wearing wall to wall f*****g Primark .This is a rock and roll festival. When you come to a rock and roll festival you dress for a rock and roll festival. You can never be too careful.

Organisers later apologised for the language and said it was all part of Geldof’s act.

They’re a punk band. You expect them to be a bit controversial and he got a reaction from the crowd.
We were disappointed that there was so much swearing. We want this to be a family event and it would have been nice if it was toned down. Some people who felt it was offensive made the decision to leave. We’re truly sorry if people were offended. It wasn’t our intention in booking them.

Lesson? Never ever diss someone for wearing Penneys. (3AM)

Remember America’s Next Top Model? It’s coming back.

But it won’t have the frankly iconic Tyra Banks at the helm. Instead, it’ll be hosted by…

Rita Ora.

Sometimes you just gotta laugh. Smile through it. Your happiness is the most important ❤️ ritaora ritaora

Tyra Banks told USA Today:

I thought we were done with the brand. But the fact that the brand still has viability, and that VH1 really truly sees a strong future with it, how could I say no to that?

Brand, brand, brand.

Meanwhile, Rita Ora released a frankly nonsensical statement about being a businesswoman (???) to celebrate the announcement.

The approach I wanted to have as a host and judge to the girls is what my career stands for at this moment in time, which is being a businesswoman and being able to do multiple things at the same time, whether it’s music or shooting (magazine covers) and being in movies and designing clothes.

Grand, Rita. Whatever you say.

And the rest of the day’s dirt…

  • Liam Payne is officially going solo </3 (3AM)
  • Brooklyn Beckham posted a photo of Chloe Moretz saying, “I think I’ll keep her.” God help us all. (Daily Mail)
  • Bruce Springsteen is hanging around the Dublin Horse Show. (Goss)
  • Tom Hiddleston is apparently still “having a great time” with Taylor Swift. Alright Tom. (E! Online)
  • Selena Gomez makes $550,000 per sponsored Instagram post. Gulp. (Hollywood Life)
