GAVIN JAMES HAS a fairly busy tour schedule ahead of him this summer, with a mix of headliners and festival slots across Europe until September.
The Irish singer has gigs booked everywhere from Germany and Ibiza to Galway. So, it’s understandable that he’d like to make the most of his downtime. One woman, claiming to be a fan of the singer spotted him in Eddie Rocket’s and decided to approach him.
For whatever reason, Gavin wasn’t interested.
Fair enough. Most people would walk away a little bit disappointed, and perhaps a bit embarrassed. Maybe they’d give out about it to their mam when they got home. This woman, however, reacted a little bit more dramatically.
She posted a photograph of Gavin James eating at Eddie Rocket’s which has since been deleted (but can be seen here) and wrote:
@GavinJames, just met you in a chipper. Told him I went to see him years ago in Pepper Cannister Church. Rudest person I’ve ever met. #sodisappointed #uglyginger.
First of all, who calls Eddie Rocket’s a chipper? Eddie Rocket’s even expressed their confusion about this.
Declan Greene, one of Gavin’s pals who was eating with him at Eddie Rockets, responded to the angry fan. He said:
When you muscle in on the dinner table of a person you don’t know while they’re in the middle of eating, then call said stranger a “ginger dog”, you hardly expect a warm reception Teresa.
Gavin was clearly entertained by his mate’s response. He took to Twitter to write his own reply to Teresa.
He added that the “#uglyginger” hashtag that Teresa used was evidence that she’s not that nice herself.
One fan assured Gavin that he’s “genuinely one of the kindest people [she has] ever met” and he thanked her, and attributed Teresa’s rude comments to her having a “bad day”.
