DUA LIPA AND Stormzy are definitely hungover this morning after an extremely successful night at the Brit Awards. It basically should have just been called the Stormzy and Dua Award Ceremony, because all eyes were on these two for the entire night.

1. Dua Lipa brought her little brother and sister on stage as she accepted the award for British Breakthrough Act.

She told the audience why she brought her siblings to the stage:

The reason I did this – at the bottom of my album, I thanked everyone and I also told them to believe in magic, because it’s real. This is the closest I’ve come to it, so I want them to experience it first hand.

2. She also took home the award for best British Female Solo Artist.

At just 22 years of age, Dua Lipa made history as the first woman to ever receive five nominations at the Brit Awards. Is it any surprise? The music video for New Rules has surpassed 1 billion views on Youtube.

During her acceptance speech for Best British Solo Artist, she thanked all of the female artists who paved the way for her.

I want to thank every single female that has been on this stage before me, that has given  girls like me and girls not just in the music industry, but girls in society, a place to be inspired by, to look up to, that have allowed us to dream big. Here’s to more women on these stages, more women winning awards and more women taking over the world. Thank you so much.

3. We learned that Elton John has absolutely no idea how to pronounce Ed Sheeran’s name.

4. Ed made a rare public appearance with his fiancé Cherry Seaborn.

She looked extremely proud of Ed as he received his Global Success Award. Of the five nominations he received last night (the others included Best British Video, Best British Single, Best British Male Solo Artist and Best British Album of the year), Global Success was the only one he took home. Not that you’d be complaining or anything.

On the red carpet, he wished Stormzy the best of luck, saying he deserved a couple of awards last year but didn’t manage to get them. When asked if there was any of Ed’s nominations he particularly wanted to win, he told the interviewer that he wanted Stormzy to receive Best Album, an award that both of the men were nominated for.

5. Ed Sheeran’s wish came true: Stormzy won his first ever Brit Award.

It’s impossible not to smile when you see how happy Stormzy is to finally receive a Brit Award. It’s also impossible to believe that this guy is only 24-years-old. While taking home Best British Male Solo Artist, Stormzy thanked his lovely mother.

 6. Shortly after, Stormzy was presented with his second Brit Award – British Album of the Year.

If you’re ever having a bad day, all you need to do is look up videos of good things happening to Stormzy and you’ll immediately be cheered up. This guy’s joy is infectious.

7. Stormzy also called out Theresa May’s inaction regarding Grenfell.

In a powerful performance during the award show Stormzy asked “Yo, Theresa May. Where’s the money for Grenfell? You thought we just forgot about Grenfell? You’re criminals.”

8. A car was smashed up as part of Kendrick Lamar’s performance of ‘New Freezer’.

9. Gary Barlow paid tribute to the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing.

Beautiful, music loving people… Were blissfully unaware that in just a few moments, their lives would change forever. A horrific terrorist attack took place, stealing the lives, dreams and futures of 22 people, while injuring and maiming hundreds of others. Lives changed irreparably forever.

He applauded Ariana Grande, who could not travel to the Brit Awards due to illness, for her response to the harrowing events.

A few weeks later, Ariana returned to the city to host the One Love Manchester concert, helping the families of the victims and survivors of the tragedy. It was an event that epitomized the human spirit. An event that showed that hate will never win and fear will never divide us.
