Wonderful time of the year

#HomeToRide is documenting all the rides arriving home for Christmas around Ireland

Suddenly there are good looking people everywhere.

AROUND CHRISTMAS TIME every year, heading to the local for a few drinks suddenly becomes a very different experience.

Everyone has arrived home and there are rides… everywhere.

So, to document this important development, the #HomeToRide hashtag is taking off

Started by Twitter user @Bubblenoma, it’s a noble and heroic attempt to acknowledge all these new rides about town and wish them the best in their Christmas reunions.

She tells DailyEdge.ie that it was partly inspired by the lad from the #HomeToWork campaign the government launched last year.

They wanted emigrants to come home and chose a particularly attractive model to convey that message

But it quickly turned out that he was a total fraud – in the sense that he was a stock model, wasn’t returning home to work and WASN’T EVEN IRISH.

So, to right those wrongs, #HomeToRide is here to document the real journeys of those coming home, and the massive influx of rides to local pubs and clubs around Ireland this Christmas:

there are attractive people around at the holidays and I am always rooting for people to get the ride
Lets all get what we want for Christmas

YES.

It’s like a gas version of the #HomeToVote hashtag for the marriage referendum – except specifically focused on everyone getting together.

We’re all desperate for some Christmas romance stories to develop

It’s aimed at both people home home from the big shmoke and those returning from much further afield.

It’s this unique melding of these social groups that makes Christmas the perfect time for #HometoRide to flourish

It’s the hashtag we need right now

It’s such a phenomenon that Stellar have a feature in this month’s issue, regaling us of six different #HomeToRide tales.

Everyone’s welcome to join #HomeToRide

And we wish them all the best

Good luck out there.
