A hotel in Belfast had to put a sign up in the lift to warn against Irish dancers breaking it by practicing

“PS Best of luck at the Waterfront.”

THE AN COMHDHAIL World Irish Dance Championships start today in the Waterfront Hall in Belfast.

It runs until next Friday and it looks set to be a fierce competition.

But surprising downside to hosting a massive Irish dance competition is the poor hotels in the surrounding area, as one patron discovered last night when she spotted this sign while staying in a local Premier Inn:

“An actual sign in the lift in our hotel. I can’t breathe with the laughter.”

The important message, photographed by Lianne Reddy, reads:

For all our Irish Dancing Champions,
We at the Premier Inn understand how you need to practice constantly to perfect your skills. However if you dance in the lifts they will stop moving and you will be stuck in here until we can get an engineer to come and rescue you

Sound.

They must be dedicated to the cause if they can’t even wait to get to their rooms before getting some practice in

Translation: Lads, don’t be ruining the lifts with your jigs and good luck in the competition.
