Rubbish

Irish rugby player Ian Madigan delivered a serious burn when someone gave out about women referees

“Did you watch the game live or on TV?”

IRISH RUGBY INTERNATIONAL Ian Madigan is currently playing for Bristol in the English Championship – and was man of the match in yesterday’s 56-19 victory over the Cornish Pirates.

This becomes important later.

An innocuous-looking discussion started up on Twitter about how well Bristol had played

One of the responses to the tweet from a “Chris” took issue with the women who were officiating the game

Bristol player Ian Madigan spotted the tweet, and called it “rubbish”

And this is where it becomes an absolute mess.

Instead of discussing the issue itself, Chris questioned Ian Madigan about whether he had seen the game live or on TV

It got worse from there.

So many people dropped in to remind him he was tweeting the man of the match who played in the game he was talking about. He then revealed HE HADN’T EVEN WATCHED THE WHOLE THING

The official Bristol Rugby Club account got their own dig in too. Why even mention their gender?

The exchange was, of course, screenshotted and went viral thanks to the ridiculous levels of facepalm involved
