well played

This Irish Olympian received the most adorable fan letter from a little girl

G’wan Eabha.

MEATH ATHLETE SARA Treacy ran for Team Ireland in the 3000m steeplechase final in Rio back in August.

Still settling back into her day job as a doctor in a Birmingham hospital, she received a nice surprise in the post yesterday.

It was a fan letter from a little girl in 6th class back in Ireland called Eabha – and she had went all out with the illustrations

Sara told DailyEdge.ie that there were two major themes of the letter: how to become an athlete… and pandas:

She told me a bit about herself, her hobbies and that she likes pandas. She asked me lots of questions about when I started training and how much I do and if I plan on going to the next Olympics.

If she goes to the next Olympics in Tokyo, Eabha insists that Sara should go and say hi to the pandas in the local zoo.

She asked me to write back and I got invited to their school so they’ll get no homework but as much as I’d love to I don’t think I’ll have time to go any time soon as I’m back working.

The envelope it came in was suitably decked out in the green of Team Ireland too

It was a seriously nice surprise for Sara when it arrived to the hospital:

So nice! Was a fairly blaa day in work when I got a bleep expecting a job or sick patient or something and got told by an entertained admin lady I had a letter waiting for me!

The panda in the Olympic rings really is the star of the show

“Yours hopefully, Eabha”

Bless.
