JAMES HORAN HAS decided to quit his post as Mayo senior football manager.
County board officials confirmed the news hours after the Connacht champions’ All-Ireland semi-final replay defeat to Kerry in Limerick.
Horan took over in 2010 and guided the westerners to two All-Ireland finals; losing to Donegal in 2012 and Dublin last year.
Asked this evening about his future after the extra-time defeat at the Gaelic Grounds, the Ballintubber man said it wasn’t the time to discuss it but he’s made a quick decision in the wake of another disappointment.
