SINGERS JASON DERULO and Liam Payne already have quite a strange connection to each other.
The public witnessed their first encounter last month, at a rap battle, of all places. Jason began to tear Liam to shreds in their appearance on Drop The Mic:
Hey, look everybody, it’s the guy from 1D! Not the pretty one, not the gritty one, it’s the one you never see.
Derulo then congratulated Liam on his relationship with Cheryl Cole, saying that he had “slept his way to the middle.”
It looks like they’re on better terms these days, however.
Today Liam Payne shared a video on Twitter, tagging Jason Derulo and informing him that his uncle is a ‘legend’.
Jason’s uncle decided to call him up and let him speak to Liam Payne on the phone.

They had some minor technical difficulties at first, before Liam got on the phone to say:
Yo, Jason. It’s Liam. We did the TBS rap battle the other week. I’m with your uncle. What’s going on?
The uncle was absolutely chuffed.
He also made sure to give Liam’s people his card so he could drive them around again in the future.
