And as per usual, the standard narrative ensued in the hours that followed the upload, with some celebrating and others questioning Kim’s marketing approach.
At points throughout the discussion, Instagram users made reference to a similarity between Kim’s offering and that of renowned designer Jean Paul Gaultier.
And now JPG himself has weighed in, and uploaded an image of one of his fragrance bottles before making a snaky reference to the Kardashians.

And as is the norm with anything Kardashian-related, response to his less-than-subtle dig was distinctly mixed.
Some were quick to remind 66-year-old JPG that he wasn’t the first to run with that design.
Imitation being the sincerest form of flattery, you must know that Schiaparelli did it first in 1936.
Others had no time for his Insta-digs.

First of all this shade is justfied 100%. Kim could of done a bottle shaped as her ass or some other stupid shit she does, but she and her team decided it would be better to recreate this ICONIC bottle. No the @jpgaultierofficial is not original but it’s the original and THE bottle of our time.

This is not about shade! This is about someone stealing original designs and ideas Even her box is identical to the one JPG used in 1999. Of course you can get inspired but please mention something about the artist.
Something tells us that with the latest saga in the life and times of Kanye West taking centre-stage right now, JPG’s remarks will have little to no effect on Kim.
