Lorde has apologised for a 'really insensitive' comment about Taylor Swift's friendship... it's the Dredge

All the celeb dirt.

EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the best of the day’s celebrity dirt from the top to the very bottom.

Lorde has been everywhere in the last few weeks. A new album is out, which is storming the charts, and she’s been secretly reviewing onion rings on Instagram too. (Yes, really).

But, the first controversy has arisen out of her ever-present media appearances, and it came in an interview with The Guardian over the weekend.

Most controversially of all, it was a comment related to Taylor Swift – who Lorde is undoubtedly close to through her “squad”.

On the difficulty of maintaining a friendship with someone as famous as Taylor Swift, Lorde said:

It’s like having a friend with very specific allergies. There are certain places you can’t go together. Certain things you can’t do. There are these different sets of considerations within the friendship. It’s like having a friend with an autoimmune disease.

Needless to say, the off-colour comments have not gone down well:

Although not mentioning Swift by name, the way the answer was framed it’s being assumed that’s who Lorde was referring to. And it’s unfortunate given another of Taylor’s close friends Selena Gomez actually has an autoimmune disease called lupus.

Late last night she took to Twitter to respond to one of the critics, apologising for the remarks

Fair enough.

Let’s hope Lorde isn’t cast out of the squad for it. (Mirror)

Dec could be presenting solo on ITV for the first time ever, following the revelation that Ant McPartlin will be taking some time out to recover from his addictions.

Mail Online is reporting today that ITV may give Ant up to a year’s sabbatical fully paid to complete his recovery.

An “insider” told them:

It is all still too early to say for sure what will happen, but all anyone wants is for Ant to get well again.
He and Dec are the backbone of the ITV family and… Ant has the network’s complete and utter support.
Formally, Ant has no work commitments until November and obviously the hope is that he will be completely better by then, and able to fulfil them. But ITV will not rush him in any way, and the feeling is he must take as long as he needs.

Get well soon, Ant.

J Lo and her new boyfriend Alex Rodriguez have been on holiday in France – and the trip has been estimated to have cost $350,000.

No hostels for these lads:

Starting in Paris, they moved down south to Monaco and various other cities on a private jet over the past few days.

EOnline have done a breakdown of the estimated cost of the trip, and it’s absolutely ridiculous:

The pair likely traveled from Miami to Nice via Private Fly Long Range Jet—a one-way trip that adds up to $81,580. Later, they flew from Nice to Paris, which was also probably via private jet (this time, a medium range) for about $9,190.
Upon their return, if the couple flew direct from Paris back to Los Angeles via Private Fly Long Range Jet, it would have cost them around $94,450.

Further on, they estimate that the private yacht they rented would set them back over $160,000.

They’d be bulling if it lashed rain. (E!Online)
