The casting of Fiennes and the look they went for was ridiculed from all corners of the internet and beyond, and today Sky announced that the episode of Urban Myths has been pulled because of concerns from Michael’s family:

We have taken the decision not to broadcast Elizabeth, Michael and Marlon, a half hour episode from the Sky Arts Urban Myths series, in light of the concerns expressed by Michael Jackson’s immediate family.
We set out to take a light-hearted look at reportedly true events and never intended to cause any offence. Joseph Fiennes fully supports our decision.

On the day that the trailer was released, Michael’s daughter Paris was quick to register her disgust on Twitter at the portrayal

As the BBC reports, a petition to boycott the “slightly tongue in cheek” half-hour episode had been signed by more than 20,000 people.

Given the reaction from family, friends and fans it’s probably for the best

Now the episode will never see the light of day
