CHIC SEEM TO be big fans of Ireland, having played the 3Arena, Live At The Marquee and soon Malahide Castle in less than a year.
Anyway, with new album ‘It’s About Time’ due in September, it makes sense that Nile Rodgers and co. are making their way back over here on the promo trail.
Although, some people are skeptical as to whether there is a person living in Ireland today that hasn’t seen Chic live at some point.
This is it now. They’re here forever. In fact, there’s chat about them replacing the Camembert Quarter on the Late Late.
There’s also been speculation that Nile just plays here for the craic now, but actually, his contractual obligations are beyond fun and games.
That’s a fairly small rider, but whatever.
Nile didn’t say whether he’s a Barry’s or Lyons man, but he did admit to being a two-cup man. Admirable.
