one irish day

#OneIrishDay is taking over Irish Twitter this morning - here's what it's all about

It’s charming as hell.

A FEW DAYS ago, Newstalk journalist Jess Kelly announced a Twitter and Instagram hashtag called #OneIrishDay.

The aim? To get Irish people to document their day on social media and show Ireland in all its boring, mundane, gorgeous glory. Think of it as an antidote to all the aspirational photos you’re bombarded with on Instagram.

And this morning it’s the top trending hashtag in Ireland with people from all over the country participating and sharing little snippets from their day.

From gorgeous views…

To domestic mishaps

Whoops.

From the much-needed morning cuppa…

To the daily commute

And of course there were commutes like this

Typical Ireland.

From the slightly heartbreaking…

To the extremely romantic

(Don’t worry, Seamus did get fed in the end.)

*makes mental note to do wash*

Meanwhile, anyone who works in an office will relate to these photos…

Yep. Same.

And it’s not just humans that are participating

That’ll do, pig. That’ll do.
