WHETHER YOU BELIEVE in karma or not, you can’t deny what happened to this Scottish politician sounds eerily like the universe getting its own back.
South Lanarkshire councillor Jackie Burns was spotted relieving himself by Hamilton police in the early hours of Saturday morning and slapped with a £40 fine.
“Why couldn’t he have stopped in at a public toilet?” you might ask. Well, because earlier this year, Burns voted to shut all of them down.
Yes, in May the councillor announced that the local public toilets would all be closed due to the £22 million cutback by the Scottish government.
According to the Daily Record, the politician has admitted that the incident was “very embarrassing”.
I was in a taxi rank…after being at a function. It had been a very enjoyable evening. I got caught short and went down a lane to relieve myself.
This is what many of us would call ‘taking the piss’. Ahem.
