YESTERDAY, BRITISH NEWSPAPERS published photos of Queen Elizabeth II riding her horse.
“At 90 the Queen looks elegant in a silk scarf as she heads out on her beloved ell pony for a trot along the Thames near Windsor Castle,” gushed the Daily Mail.
The Sun was more sombre: “The Queen rides along riverbank at Windsor Castle with Head Groom Terry Pendry just two months after illness”.
The best line, however, came from the Telegraph which opened with:
The Queen is still riding at 90
*spit take*
This would never have happened under an Irish person’s watch.
