IT’S 8 APRIL, aka the most important day in any Empire Records fan’s calendar.
The 1995 film takes place over one day, culminating in the visit of Robin Thick-esque pop star Rex Manning to the ailing music shop.
Empire Records has achieved cult status in the almost 20 years since it was released, and every 8 April Rex Manning Day is celebrated with a nod to his – frankly terrible – song Say No More Mon Amour.
