WITH THE BIRTH of his baby girl on Christmas Eve Robert De Niro has become a father for the sixth time, aged 68.
Helen Grace was born 7 lbs 2oz by a surrogate mother to De Niro and his second wife Grace Hightower on Saturday, the LA Times reports.
Helen is the second child for the couple who have been married since 1997. Their son Elliot was born in March 1998.
The baby girl’s eldest sister Drena is now 40 years old. She was adopted by De Niro after he married her mother Diahnne Abbot. The couple went on to have another son Raphael.
Twin sons Julian Henry and Aaron Kendrik, 16, were also born by a surrogate mother in 1995 from a long-term relationship with model Toukie Smith, according to Sky News.
De Niro has been heard to call his a “fractionalised family”.
The Hollywood A-lister is also a grandfather to his son Raphael’s children.
