Sinéad O'Connor to appear on tonight's Late Late Show to discuss Miley Cyrus row

The Irish singer has threatened the young star with legal action over a war of words.

SINÉAD O’CONNOR is set to appear on the Late Late Show on RTÉ this evening.

The singer has been locked in a war of words with popstar Miley Cyrus, after O’Connor wrote an open letter to the 20-year-old about her career.

Cyrus responded by posting screengrabs of tweets, which O’Connor said were sent two years ago. Cyrus also referenced troubled star Amanda Bynes.

She also tweeted an image of Sinéad O’Connor ripping up a picture of Pope John Paul II on Saturday Night Live, and said she was too busy hosting SNL herself this weekend to write an open letter back to the Irish singer.

O’Connor has posted follow up letters to Cyrus on her Facebook page, advising the young star that she will take legal action if she doesn’t receive an apology for what she calls “abusive tweets”.

When you publicly apologise to Amanda and myself and all mental health sufferers as well as all who were abused by priests that will end the matter as far as I am concerned.
I have no interest in or desire to cause you trouble but if you do not apologise for having deliberately tried to cause me hurt and trouble personally and professionally I will have to bring pressure upon you.

An RTÉ source has said that the interview is all very last minute and that O’Connor will be appearing before the live studio audience.
