This Dublin makeup artist's incredible tattoo coverup has been seen all over the world

“His own mother didn’t recognise him when he walked in the door.”

IT’S SAFE TO say people don’t get tattoos just to cover them up, but what if you had to? Well, it’s entirely possible.

Marie Murphy is a makeup artist that specialises in full-body transformations – she was enlisted by Dundalk-based piercer Baz Black to help him out for a video he wanted to make.

The upper half of his body is pretty much fully covered in tattoos, and Marie was tasked  with making them all disappear. She told DailyEdge.ie:

Baz had the idea of doing a video to cover up all his tattoos to show that you can’t judge a book by its cover. It took five hours in total to transform him and his own mother didn’t recognise him when he walked in the door.

Marie works for Kat Von D in Debenhams, and used the brand’s Lock-It Foundation to mask the tattoos. As you can see from the video and the before and after photos, it’s powerful stuff:

She posted a short clip from the video on her Instagram account and it “spiraled out of control from there”, garnering over 290,000 views from people from “Brazil to China”.

You’d never know he was so heavily tattooed. Excellent work, Marie.
