Tayto Totem Candy Popcorn was the best Irish treat and needs to be brought back

So sweet.

WAY BACK IN the day, before Tayto was merely associated with crisps, famous Hollywood movie stars and theme parks – they produced something of true beauty.

It was called Totem Candy Popcorn.

And it is sorely missed

For the uninitiated, it was a sweet pink and yellow popcorn in this blue bag

The Curious Goods Blog remembers it with appropriate fondness:

I still hanker for the days when Tayto Totem Candy Popcorn was readily available in newsagents and sweetshops nationwide. Searching around on the Internet yields surprisingly few mentions of it, but most Irish people of a certain age will remember the navy coloured bag with a totem pole showcasing what looked like diseased Skittles inside.

Yes, it was definitely weird

But in the best way.

For some, it is the only sweet-style popcorn that’s ever got it right

And it brings back all the multi-coloured memories

So we should probably look into bringing it back – even if it’s for one of those limited edition runs that eventually crush our dreams.

In the last few weeks, the *other* Mr Tayto introduced a rake of sweet popcorns (including cheese & onion)

A return of the classic Totem would lead to many not having to ask this important question

Good times.
