What to watch on TV tonight: Saturday

This is the telly everyone will be talking about tomorrow.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Reeling in the Years (RTÉ One, 6.35pm)

Lads, it’s an absolute cracker of a year on the show tonight: 2002.
So we’ll have the Saipan saga with Roy Keane and Mick McCarthy clashing at the World Cup, and Nadine Coyle getting the boot from Six after lying about her age. Oh, and not to mention all the anthems of that year.

Catch Me If You Can (RTÉ 2, 8pm)

Starring Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio, this 2002 fact-based drama tells the story of Frank Abagnale Jr who charmed his way across America on false pretenses. With the FBI hot on his heels for years, Frank managed to outwit them for a staggering amount of time.

Billy Connolly & Me (3e, 11pm)

Unseen footage, in-depth interviews and contributions from world-famous fans: this tribute to Billy Connolly is next level. The comedian talks about the impact comedy has on society, discusses topics close to his heart, and will have us all rolling. Naturally.

Everyone’s talking about: Corries’s Roy Cropper

So, last night Pat Phelan was stabbed by Anna Windass. Most assumed he must have been killed after he was zipped into a body bag (first clue right there), while others are sure he’ll pop up again in the near future.

But that’s beside the point.

Twitter is more concerned with Roy Cropper’s response to the armed police who arrived on scene, or more specifically the officer’s response to Roy.

Or switch over for…

  • International Soccer Friendly (RTE 2, 22.30) The highlights of tonight’s match will be presented by Darragh Maloney.
  • The British Soap Awards (TV3, 8pm) A must-watch if you’re bet into the soaps.
  • Emma Murphy Fights Back (RTÉ 2, 11.30pm) A repeat if you missed it, and an absolute must-watch. Filmed over the course of two years, this documentary tells the story of Emma Murphy – a survivor of domestic abuse.
  • Meet the Fockers (BBC One, 11.30pm) In-laws, gross-out gags and the glorious Gaylord Focker.
