Saoirse Ronan said that even she gets the travel bug when she's working too much

She also spoke about her Irish politeness.

SAOIRSE RONAN is hotly tipped to be included in the upcoming Oscar nominations, but it seems we might be seeing little of her next year.

In an interview with AP, Saoirse said that in spite of her success, she is in a place in her life where she’s still ‘figuring things out’.

I’ve always loved [acting] so much but it’s all I’ve ever known. And I had a panic recently where I thought I’ve got to go do other things. I’ve got to go travel.
I even find when I’m working, I can’t read, I can’t watch TV, I can’t do anything. I guess I can listen to podcasts but I can’t really be stimulated by anything other than the projects. Your world becomes so small.

Last year, she gave herself a little break before she started filming Mary, Queen of Scots.

So last year, I took 6 months off before ‘Mary” which is the best thing I could have done. It just reminds you that there is a world out there beyond what we’re doing.

Hey, even Saoirse Ronan often thinks about just pissing off to Asia for six months to find herself!

That’s probably not even the most interesting part of that interview.

When speaking to AP reporter Lindsey Bahr, Saoirse let her ‘Irish politeness’ get in the way of asking for no cherry tomatoes in her Beverly Hills lunch.

“It’s so Irish,” Ronan explains. “In Ireland you feel so guilty for requesting something to not be in the dish. No one would ever do it. But I like that they do it over here. I like the gutsiness!”

She asks for the salad in a to-go box when she’s finished, so not to offend the chef, saying it’s “so Irish”.

What part of Ireland are you hanging around in, Saoirse?
