Yes, he failed to take us to the Eurovision final, but Nicky Byrne’s luck could be about to change. The Irish Mail on Sunday reports that his name is in the ring for the job as host of the Xtra Factor, the companion programme to the X Factor.

An ‘insider’ told the Mail on Sunday that his Eurovision upset won’t affect his chances:

His fellow countrywoman Laura Whitmore is also rumoured to be in the running. Mon the lads.
