What to watch on TV tonight: Tuesday

Here’s the telly people will be talking about tomorrow.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

The Waiting Game (RTÉ One, 10.15pm)

This documentary follows a troupe of actors – Stephen Brennan, Alan Stanford, Barry McGovern and Johnny Murphy – as they tour with the Gate Theatre’s version of Waiting For Godot over the course of two decades. A fitting tribute to Johnny Murphy (or Joey ‘The Lips’ Fagan, as you may remember him) who passed away earlier this year.

Notting Hill (RTÉ2, 9.30pm)

Had your fill of Love Actually? Here’s some more Richard Curtis! Hugh Grant stars as a bookshop owner who meets and falls in love with a big Hollywood star (played by Julia Roberts). Romantic capers ensue as the pair try to avoid the press.

This Is Us (Channel 4, 9pm)

The critically acclaimed family drama continues with Rebecca (Mandy Moore) running into her adopted son Randall’s biological father. #thisisus

Matthew McConaughey has stirred up a bit of excitement by saying he “wouldn’t hesitate for a second” about being in True Detective again.

Speaking to talk show host Rich Eisen, he said if the script was “written well” he’d give it a shot – it’s currently unclear if the show will get a third season after the second’s lukewarm reception.
