Strange Occurrences In A Small Irish Village (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

Documentary directed by Aoife Kelleher (of the excellent One Million Dubliners) about the the booming business in Knock, Co Mayo, hundreds of years after the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared there. We hear stories from locals and visitors, clergy and lay people alike.

Carrick-on-Stag: Reality Bites (RTÉ2, 9.30pm)

Carrick-on-Shannon in Co Leitrim is one of the most popular stag and hen destinations in Ireland – this programme pays it a visit to see what everyone gets up to. The hens and stags discuss the different approaches each has to celebrating the end of the single life.

Leonard Cohen: I’m Your Man (TG4, 10pm)

This film, shot in 2006, features an interview with the late musician in his LA home, interspersed with covers of his songs by Bono, Nick Cave, Jarvis Cocker and Rufus Wainwright. A must for Cohen fans in mourning.

Everybody’s talking about: GBBO Christmas Special

The Great British Bake Off as we know it may be over, but the Christmas special lives on.

Aired in two parts on Christmas Day and St Stephen’s Day, the special will feature favourite contestants from past series (including Norman <3) facing three festive challenges. Watch the trailer above for a taste of the action.
