What to watch on TV tonight: Sunday

Here’s the telly people will be talking about tomorrow.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

The Fall (RTÉ One, 9.30pm)

We’re into episode five of the third series of The Fall – and opinion is still divided about whether it’s actually any use. Some would have you believe it’s the most boring piece of telly since The World Paintdrying Championships of 1989, while there’s a dedicated band who are watching the subtleties develop compared to the bludgeon of the first two seasons. Tonight, Spector opens up about the life he can remember before his amnesia, while the killer’s legal team remain determined he will never stand trial. Get yer preview here#TheFall

The Grand Budapest Hotel (Channel 4, 9pm)

One of Wes Anderson’s very best films graces Channel 4 tonight – and it’s not often Sunday night telly throws up such a gem. Ralph Fiennes stars as the concierge in the most surreal and luxurious hotel – that has a very interesting back story. A place where farce is just around the corner. #GrandBudapestHotel

Louis Theroux – Drinking to Oblivion (RTÉ 2, 9.30pm)

Louis visits the liver centre at King’s College Hospital, London, and meets alcoholics in need of special treatment for the damage heavy drinking has done to their bodies. Handled with all the class and humanity that’s part and parcel of a Theroux doc. #DrinkingToOblivion

Everybody’s talking about: this moment on Strictly last night

Ed Balls went for the Patrick Swayze routine… but didn’t quite manage to pull it off:

Or flick over for…

  • Begin Again (BBC Two, 12.05am) Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo star in John Carney’s romantic comedy. Might be worth staying up for.
  • Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (Film4, 9pm) Russell Crowe sailing the seven seas and roaring a bit.
  • Poldark (BBC One, 9pm) It wouldn’t be Sunday night without it.
  • Match of the Day 2 (BBC One, 10.30pm) All the weekend’s Premier League action.
  • The X Factor (TV3, 8pm) Results night.
  • Strictly Come Dancing: The Results (BBC One, 7.15pm) Will Ed make it through? Surely for the comedy alone, he deserves a shot.
