What to watch on TV tonight: Friday

Here’s the telly people will be talking about tomorrow.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

The Graham Norton Show (BBC One, 10.35pm)

Rosamund Pike, Michael McIntyre, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Coldplay are the guests on a particularly homegrown episode of Graham Norton tonight. Appropriately enough, Rosamund will be on to promote her new film In A United Kingdom and Lloyd Webber will be chatting about his new musical School of Rock. #GrahamNorton

The Late Late Show (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

Well, well, well. In a week that has seen Donald Trump elected as US President, The Late Late has decided to bring over Katie Hopkins to give an insight his supporters and how he came to win the race for the White House. Her appearance has already sparked over 600 complaints to the national broadcaster and there will be many who are choosing to boycott the show tonight. For those that are watching, Dara O Briain, Oliver Callan and Bibi Baskin are also on. #LateLate

The Devil’s Own (TV3, 11.05pm)

The movie where Brad Pitt does a decent job trying to pull off the Belfast accent. Harrison Ford is a New York cop who discovers his Irish lodger is an IRA gunman on a mission to obtain missiles for shipment back to Ireland. Some nice light viewing to bring this week to a close.

Everyone’s talking about… whether they are going to watch The Late Late tonight

The appearance of Katie Hopkins on RTÉ One’s flagship programme has dominated Irish telly for a couple of days now.

There’s been an active movement on Twitter to get RTÉ to stop her appearing:

And the #LateLate hashtag is already trending in Ireland this morning – hours before the show actually starts.

You have to feel that no matter what happens, there will be inevitable talking points from the fallout.

Or flick over for…

  • Pride of Ireland Awards (UTV Ireland, 9pm) Acknowledging some real life heroes doing stellar work in Ireland.
  • Pat Shortt’s Entertainment from D’Telly (RTÉ One, 8.30pm) A new series sees the comedian take a trawl through the RTÉ archives.
  • The King’s Speech (More4, 9pm) If you’re finished The Crown on Netflix and need your historical Royal fix.
  • The Last Leg (Channel 4, 10pm) Gagging around about the week that was. Will they have enough material though?
