All Round to Mrs Brown’s (RTE 1, 9.20pm)

Agnes invites one last selection of celebrities into her home, as her Saturday night chat show concludes. This time, actor, singer and West End star Michael Ball pulls up a chair in Mrs Brown’s sitting room, along with actress and one-time Strictly Come Dancing contestant Sunetra Sarker, most recently been seen in guest roles in both Death in Paradise and Broadchurch. Wave goodbye to Agnes… for now.

Carol (Channel 4, 9pm)

Premiere. A housewife trapped in a loveless marriage in 1950s New York forms a close attachment with a younger woman seeking fulfilment in her own life. A passionate secret affair develops, but as her husband grows suspicious, she finds her competence as a parent being called into question. Romantic drama based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel The Price of Salt, starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara.

Calvary (BBC Two, 9.30pm)

Spoilt for choice tonight. A priest in a rural Irish village receives a confession from a man who vows to kill him in one week as punishment for the Catholic Church’s history of child abuse. The cleric spends his last seven days trying to put his community’s affairs in order, but finds himself surrounded by people who harbour resentments of their own against the Church. Drama, starring Brendan Gleeson, Chris O’Dowd, Kelly Reilly, Aidan Gillen and Dylan Moran
