What to watch on TV tonight: Wednesday

Here’s the telly that everyone will be talking about tomorrow.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

The November Man (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

Premiere. A retired CIA agent returns to duty to take on a personal mission, protecting a woman who has evidence that could expose a secret conspiracy. However, in the process he makes an enemy of his former protege and uncovers a mole within the intelligence agency. Thriller based on Bill Granger’s novel There Are No Spies, starring our own Pierce Brosnan, Luke Bracey and Olga Kurylenko.

Live UEFA Champions League (RTÉ 2, 6pm)

Rosenborg v Dundalk (Kick-off 6.15pm). Coverage of the second qualifying round second-leg clash from Lerkendal Stadion in Trondheim, Norway, which will see the winners progress to the third qualifying round, which is still two rounds shy of the group stage for this season’s competition. Presented by Peter Collins, with commentary by George Hamilton and Stuart Byrne. COME ON THE LADS.

Good People (Film4, 9pm)

Another premiere! We’re blessed on this Wednesday night. An American couple living in London face financial ruin as they try to renovate their home (but Dermot Bannon was not the architect). The discovery of a bag of money seems to be the answer to all their problems, but they soon have cause to regret keeping it as they are drawn into the criminal underworld. Crime thriller based on the novel by Marcus Sakey, starring James Franco and Kate Hudson.

Everybody’s talking about… the BBC publishing the salaries of its top earners, and everyone is having a gawk

The highest paid presenters are:

  • 1. Chris Evans £2.2m – £2.25m
  • 2. Gary Lineker £1.75m – £1.8m
  • 3. Graham Norton £850,0000 – £899,999
  • 4. Jeremy Vine £700,000 – £749,999
  • 5. John Humphrys £600,000 – £649,999

And with the clear disparity between men and women on the list, the publicly available salaries have sparked accusations that there is a BBC gender gap.

More will be revealed as the analysis continues into the afternoon.
