What to watch on TV tonight: Thursday

Here are the shows that will be on your Twitter timeline this evening.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Home of the Year (RTÉ One, 8.30pm)

It’s back for a new series. Homeowners around Ireland compete for the title of Home of the Year, as a prestigious panel go around judging people’s lovely houses. Let’s face it, no TV show has ever lost viewers by allowing us to have a gawk around other people’s fancy gaffs, and this is no exception. It might not be Room to Improve, but it will keep us going until Sunday night. #HomeoftheYear

Don’t Tell the Bride (RTÉ 2, 9.30pm)

Does it get any better than watching someone make a hames of a wedding from the comfort of your own sofa? Tonight, the groom’s plans “are disrupted by a surprise arrival, an unexpected departure and the presence of a tractor.” Well now, this could be quite a show. #Don’tTellTheBride

Independence Day (Film4, 9pm)

With the sequel set to land this summer, now is as good a time as any to revisit the best disaster film of all time. It’s obviously up to Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum’s teeny tiny laptop to save the earth from those dastardly aliens. The US President also casually flies around in a fighter jet instead of making actual decisions on the ground. It has EVERYTHING. #IndependenceDay

Everybody’s talking about… they’ve only gone and greenlighted a Hey Arnold! movie

Oh yes.

The classic Nickelodeon cartoon for ’90s kids is coming to the big screen. It’s going to be called The Jungle Movie:

According to AV Club:

Apparently titled Hey Arnold: The Jungle Movie, it will pick up right where the original series ended, with the eponymous football-headed boy discovering a map that seemed to offer a clue to the whereabouts of his long-lost parents.

This is big news

Or switch over for…

  • The Inbetweeners Movie (E4, 9pm) Lads on tour.
  • First Dates (RTÉ 2, 10.30pm) The series that was on Channel 4 last year gets a run out on RTÉ 2.
  • Alan Carr: Chatty Man (Channel 4, 10pm) Matthew Perry and Phillip Schofield are in the house for the start of a new series. Please don’t ask him about the “Friends reunion”.
