What to watch on TV tonight: Saturday

Here are the shows people will be talking about tomorrow.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Saturday Night with Miriam (RTÉ One, 9pm)

Joining Miriam tonight will be Mrs Brown’s Boys actors Danny O’Carroll and Paddy Houlihan, broadcaster George Hook and Fair City actress Geraldine Plunkett – so an eclectic set of guests all told. The night will be wrapped up by The RTÉ Concert Orchestra playing music from the movies.

The Fighter (RTÉ 2, 9pm)

Boxer Micky Ward (Mark Wahlberg) is trying to make it to the top of the fight game, but his family is getting in the way. Micky is persuaded to sever ties with his family after a series of disastrous fights, but when a shot at the world championship title presents itself, Micky and his brother Dicky must reconcile to meet the challenge. Christian Bale deservedly won an Oscar for his performance in this true story.

Britain’s Favourite Superhero (Channel 4, 7.30pm)

A Channel 4 poll outlines the superheroes the public across the water have taken to their hearts, and this doc charts the history of big-screen heroics from the release of the ground-breaking Superman: The Movie in 1978 through to the high-profile releases arriving in cinemas this year.

Everybody’s talking about: Robbie Williams is “set to join X Factor”

Not as a contestant, obviously – he hasn’t fallen that far.

It’s been reported today that Sharon Osbourne has nabbed him as one of her co-judges for the houses round.

Give us a tune while you’re on, Robbie.
