What to watch on TV tonight: Wednesday

Here are the shows people will be talking about tomorrow.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Rio 2016 (various channels)

Yesterday was a mixed bag for the Irish in Rio – with Michael Conlan departing but Annalise Murphy taking the silver in the sailing. Thomas Barr romped through to the 400m hurdles final as well – so all things considered not an absolute disaster. Today, Cavan’s Leona Maguire and Antrim native Stephanie Meadow tee it up for Ireland in the golf and Ciara Everard is lining out in the 800m. Get your full Olympics schedule right here#Rio2016

Live UEFA Champions League: Dundalk v Legia Warsaw (RTÉ 2, 7.20pm)

Tonight’s the night. Dundalk are just one tie away from the Champions League proper – and the first leg is on in the Aviva in Dublin tonight. Tony O’Donoghue is joined by Kenny Cunningham and Richie Sadlier for the action, and Dundalk will be hoping to get a good result on the board before the away trip. Me nerves.

Tammy (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)

Melissa McCarthy and Susan Sarandon are the grandmother and granddaughter team on a disaster-strewn road trip to Niagara Falls. Strap yourself in for the midweek movie.

Everybody’s talking about… they’ve banned poetry as a “talent” from the Rose of Tralee

What.

There was some top quality sarcasm when the news broke today.

All changed, changed utterly: A terrible beauty is born.

Or flick over for…

  • Reeling in the Years (RTÉ One, 6.30pm) 1984 tonight. Sure look, it has Wham! in it. You’d be mad to not watch it for the 840th time.
  • Public Enemies (ITV4, 10pm) Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Marion Cotillard in the crime drama based on the last years of John Dillinger .
  • The Breakfast Club (Film4, 11.15pm) Eat my shorts.
  • Exodus: Our Journey to Europe (RTÉ One, 11.20pm) The often heartbreaking stories of people seeking a home in Europe.
