This student from Co Down tested his US classmates on Nordie slang, and they hadn't a clue

WE KNOW STUDYING abroad is all about experiencing a different culture, but why not introduce them to yours, too?

Gareth Myles Greenfield from Co Down is studying abroad at the University of Central Missouri, where it is currently homecoming week.

Under the pretence of quizzing the potential homecoming kings and queens about their nominations, he got them to translate five key Nordie phrases.

These included the standard “What’s the craic?” which most got right, to the more tricky “Let’s head out for a wee dander”:
