WATCH: Legendary country singer Hank Williams Jr compares Obama to Hitler

The singer’s song was dropped as the theme tune for the opening of Monday Night Football after he made the remarks.

HANK WILLIAMS JR, the guy who sings the Monday Night Football theme song, went on Fox and Friends this morning to discuss the presidential race, according to the AP. He said he didn’t like any of the GOP candidates and then compared Barack Obama to Hitler.

“That would be like Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu. Not hardly. In the shape this country is in?” Williams said of Boehner and Obama’s golf game.

Later, ESPN released a statement saying they would not play Williams’ song for the opening of Monday Night Football.
