Mission Impossible 2 (RTE 2, 9.30pm)

Tom Cruise returns for the second of the MI series. He’s after a deadly man-made virus in an attempt to destroy it, but he obviously runs into some trouble. Drama.

Planet Earth II (BBC 1, 8pm)

It’s the final in the series and will be examining wild animals living in big cities. We’ll see leopards in Mumbai, falcons in New York, and langurs in Jodhpur. Last in the fantastic series.

Filth (Channel 4, 11pm)

James McEvoy stars as a corrupt policeman with a bad cocaine habit who plots to turn his colleagues against each other and persuade his ex-wife to take him back. A word of warning, do NOT watch this with your parents.

Everyone’s talking about… Louis Tomlinson’s emotional X Factor performance

One Direction star Louis Tomlinson sadly lost his mother Johannah earlier in the week to an aggressive form of leukemia. She was just 43.

Her death was announced on Friday, but Louis agreed to keep his promise to perform his debut solo single live on the X Factor last night.

He got a standing ovation for the performance and Simon Cowell said his mum would be so proud.

He thanked people for their support on Twitter last night.

The X Factor Final (TV 3, 8pm) Even if you haven’t been following it, it’s bound to be a decent final.
