What to watch on TV tonight: Saturday

Here are the shows that’ll be on your Twitter timeline later.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

X Men, First Class (Channel 4, 9pm)

Superhero adventure prequel. We flash back to when Xavier forms the team of mutants in the 60s, until a wedge is formed between him and Magento. Spot James McEvoy, Michael Fassbender and JLaw at their most heroic.

The Saturday Night Show (RTÉ 1, 9.45pm)

Brendan is joined by former Westlifer Mark Feehily, Donal O Sé will be talking obesity with a 28 stone patient, and Theresa Lowe and Frank McNamara talk about life off screen. Mundy will be performing. Oh, you spoil us.

Prometheus (RTÉ 2, 9pm)

Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel gets its first airing on Irish TV tonight. A spacecraft is sent to another world and follow clues to see if they can find aliens who created the human race. Of course, the aliens turn out to be totally not sound at all. Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron and Idris Elba star.

Everyone is talking about… Gogglebox Jay

Lads. Are you sitting down? Channel 4 have confirmed to Buzzfeed last week that Silent Jay of Gogglebox fame will not be returning to the show.

He has been an excellent contributor to Gogglebox, and we are very grateful for all he has given to the show.

Jay Makin has been missing now for two episodes, and it seems he won’t be reappearing after he broke up with his girlfriend Eve Woerdenweber.

People are not OK, and last night’s episode was just a cruel reminder.

Or flick over for…

Love Happens (TV 3, 12.15am) It does, it does. Aaron Eckhart stars as a guy who love happens to.

Britain’s Got Talent (TV 3, 8pm) Mindless entertainment at its best.

The Whole 19 Yards (UTV Ireland, 8pm) A new gameshow hosted by Caroline Flack and Vernon Kay. Contestants have to race 19 yards to hit their buzzers to answer a question. What next?

Jane Eyre (BBC 2, 8.30pm) Oh look, Michael Fassbender is in this too.

In Fear (Channel 4, 11.40pm) A couple get lost in rural Ireland and are terrorised by creatures in the darkness. Watch it before you go to bed.
