The Marvellous World of Roald Dahl (BBC 2, 8pm)

If you grew up devouring Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, then you’re bound to love this documentary. The Marvellous World of Roald Dahl tells the story of Dahl’s remarkable life as a fighter pilot, spy and beloved children’s author.

Mrs Brown’s Boys Live (RTÉ One, 9.45pm)

In a rather daring move, Brendan O’Carroll and co. are broadcasting a live episode of the popular sitcom. Will there be cursing? Will anyone snot themselves? Tune in to find out.

Saturday Night with Miriam (RTÉ One, 10.20pm)

Tonight Miriam is joined by retired rugby player Luke Fitzgerald, model Roz Purcell and former Fianna Fáil TD Mary O’Rourke.

Everyone’s talking about… Unsolved: The Boy Who Disappeared

Already being described as the BBC’s answer to Making a Murderer and Serial, Unsolved: The Boy Who Disappeared follows two journalists, Alys Harte (who incidentally hails from Donegal) and Bronagh Munro, as they investigate the disappearance of Damien Nettles on the Isle of Wight twenty years on.

The Guardian has already said it makes for “compelling viewing”. It debuts online on BBC Three on Monday.
