Goodbye House (RTÉ One, 9:35pm)

A one off special following a couple as they prepare to downsize their home after the rest of the family have left the nest. This show will look at the process of deciding to go for something smaller with the help of their three adult kids, as well as the emotional experience that comes with leaving your family home behind.

How to Stay Well (Channel 4, 8.30pm)

Irish doctor Phil Kieran joins Helen Lawal and A&E doctor Javid Abdelmoneim for a new series which investigates worrying medical stories and what people who worry about their health should really be concerned about. Is it possible to get Lyme disease while walking a dog? Are smart phones affecting male fertility? How far can a sneeze carry a disease? All of these questions will be answered tonight.

Maigret Sets A Trap (RTÉ One, 11.30pm)

Rowan Atkinson stars in the TV movie adaptation of the 1950s crime drama. Being serious for once, the Mr. Bean star is on the hunt for a serial killer in Montmartre who has killed four women. Atkinson’s character sets a trap as the title suggests, hoping to catch the murderer before his next act.

Everybody’s talking about… Richard Hammond’s accident

This was the scene over the weekend when Richard Hammond crashed a Rimac Concept One (which is a Croatian electric super-car) during filming. Miraculously, he’s conscious and managed to crawl out of the vehicle before it burst into flames.

John Connors: The Travellers (RTÉ One, 10.30pm) Actor John Connors assembles a research team to trace the story of Irelan’ds travelling community, offering an alternative story to the one set down by settled people.

Food Unwrapped (Channel 4, 8.30pm) A series exploring the industry secrets behind our favourite foods.

Portrait Artist of the Year (Sky Arts, 7pm) Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell launch a search for a star portrait artist who will paint celebrity sitter Imelda Staunton.

Ireland’s Teen Killers (3, 10pm) A look at some of the Irish teenagers who have murdered people in the last ten years, which investigates what might have turned these teens into killers.

A Most Wanted Man (TG4, 9.30pm)

Philip Seymour Hoffman leads in a Berlin-set spy thriller. An escaped militant’s attempt to claim an inheritance gives Hoffman’s character a chance to lay a trap for a scholar who is funding terrorists.
