Whatsapp is working on an 'unsend' button for those regrettable drunken texts

PRAISE BE!

EVEN THE BEST of us have gotten trigger-happy with the phone after a pint or two, saying things we probably wouldn’t sober. Well, it looks like Whatsapp want to help us out in this area.

According to Metro, the app is currently working on a feature that will allow you to retract texts you’re not particularly proud of.

Videos posted by the Twitter account @WABetaInfo (which is generally on the ball with news about Whatsapp’s latest features) show a beta test in which a user is able to ‘revoke’ messages after they’re sent.

However, revoked messages appear to come with a ‘Sender revoked the message’ notification, so they’ll know you said SOMETHING.

It’s unclear whether you’ll be able to delete messages after they’ve been read, but at that stage, the damage has been done anyway.

Another post from the @WABetaInfo account suggests that the update will allow you to edit messages after sending them, too.

The features are not currently available to everyone, but being trialled on the app’s iPhone beta version – so if you’re one of those lucky people, go try it out and report back.
